Building a better future.

The Tanzanian Children's Project (TCP) is devoted to raising funds to support health care, education, and orphanage projects in the Rombo District of Tanzania which is located in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. To date TCP has raised over $70,000 for construction and support of the Malowa Medical Dispensary located in the Malowa village in Rombo. Some of the additional support for the dispensary includes purchasing medical equipment and supplies, subsidizing staff salaries, and before the end of 2014 paying for the installation of solar electricity.

The dispenary opened to the public in March, 2013 and as of August, 2014 is being managed by the Adorer Missionary Sisters of the Poor a religous order of nuns founded in late 2013 by Sister Mary Wandia and. The Sisters of the Poor live in a convent located within walking distance of the dispensary. In addition to managing the dispensary, the Adorer Missionary Sisters of the Poor are constructing a Catholic primary school and in a joint effort with the the Tanzanian Cardiac Hospital Foundation have established the Malowa St. John Vianney Orphanage.

The The Tanzanian Children's Project was founded in September, 2009 by the Knights of Columbus Columbia Council 7559 located in Columbia, Maryland.
